Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How long will you stay at my wedding?

A. You can decide whether you would like six hours or eight hours attendance. Six hours is generally sufficient to cover Bridal preparations until the start of the wedding breakfast and this can include speeches and cake cutting if you do these before the meal is served. Eight hours generally covers all of this plus your first dance and some of the evening entertainment.

Q. How long will my wedding DVD be?

A. Between 45 and 75 minutes depending on the length of ceremony and speeches. Where possible I include these in full although if they are too long you will receive them in full on a seperate DVD with an edited version on the main highlights DVD.

Q. Can I make changes to the DVD once I have watched it?

A. Of course if when you watch the DVD for the first time you notice any errors or ommissions, these will be corrected at no extra charge. If you would like any creative changes i.e. to the music or included footage, this is possible but is charged at an hourly rate. I will document your day as it happens as if I were a guest so please make sure I am aware of any special events which may be taking place. You will receive a draft copy of your DVD initially and then you will have two weeks to notify me of any changes before the final copies are burned. Any changes made after this time may be chargeable.

Q. Will you attend the rehearsal?

A. This is not included but if you would like me to attend, or if the Officiant insists and if the rehearsal is taking place the evening before the ceremony, I can attend for an additional charge. This will cover either the additional time and travel or a night in a hotel depending on the distance to your venue.

Q. What experience do you have?

A. My background is in stills photography, which is why I am so keen to compliment the work that your photographer will be doing on the day. I have invested significantly in professional video equipment and taken training with one of the UK's leading videographers. 2010 was my first year of video and I am loving it and getting great feedback from my customers!

Q. How do you work with photographers?

A. As I am a wedding photographer as well as now filming weddings, I am familiar with how photographers work. I will contact your photographer in advance of the day to say hello and then on the day I will make sure we work together to give you the best possible photos and videos that we can. I have a page for photographers, which explains how I work and this can be accessed here.

Q. Do I need a license for videography at my wedding?

A. Yes. A License is required to cover the use of any music in your wedding DVD. The cost of this license is between £25 and £60 depending on the types of music you will be having during the day and the number of DVD's you will want. I will arrange this license for you and the cost will be included in the price you pay. If your Church or venue makes any charge for filming then you need to find this out and pay them directly.

Q. What do you need from us before the wedding day?

A. I will need a full timetable of your day so I can be sure that all the important moments are recorded. You will also need to pick a selection of your favourite music tracks and I will use some, or all of them in the final edit. I can obtain most music although if you request anything very unusual then you will need to provide a copy of it for inclusion on your DVD.

Q. I have found a cheaper videographer - can you match their price?

A. The price I charge is the lowest I can, while still allowing me to eat and have a home! If you find someone cheaper who's work you prefer then rip their arm off, I don't know how they do it. There is at least a full week of work editing a wedding video and then insurance, paying for equipment, travel........ I could go on but you would be very bored!
